How Quiksel works

What does it actually do?

You photograph a thing you want to sell and add a sentence about it if you like. Quiksel writes the title, the description, the brand, size, colour and condition, and suggests a price. You check it, change anything you disagree with, and post it to your marketplaces. The part that normally takes twenty minutes is the writing, and that is the part Quiksel does.

How do I list my first item?

  1. Connect a shop. On the iPhone app that is Account, then Connected shops; on the website it is the eBay card on your dashboard.
  2. Tap New listing, add your photos, and write a sentence if there is anything the camera cannot see ("small mark on the left cuff", "comes with the box").
  3. It appears on your bench while Quiksel writes it. Carry straight on with the next item if you have a pile of them — the bench holds everything you have written and not yet sent.
  4. Open it from the bench and read the whole thing: title, description, condition, price, photos. Change anything you disagree with, especially the price.
  5. Press send, and pick where it goes.

Does it post without asking me?

No. Every listing Quiksel writes lands on your bench and waits there until you have opened it, read it through and pressed send yourself. There is no setting that changes that and no way past the review. See The bench below.

The one thing you can hand over is the last click on a shop's own form. The browser extension has a Post it for me switch, off until you turn it on, and with it on the extension presses that shop's publish button once, in the tab you are watching, after you have sent the listing from your bench.

Is the writing any good?

It is written to sell, not to pad. If a description says something about your item that is not true, change it before you post, and please tell us: the wording is tuned on what people correct.

Plans and payment

What am I paying for?

A number of listings a month. One listing is one thing written by the AI. Editing it afterwards is free, posting it is free, posting the same listing to a second marketplace is free, and a price cut later is free. Your allowance only goes down when Quiksel writes something new.

What do the plans cost?

Every plan includes everything: repricing, sold-sync and your sales insights are not held back for the expensive one. Plans renew monthly and you can cancel any time. Your allowance resets at the start of each period, and unused listings do not roll over.

Do I get anything to start with?

The free week. There are no free listings for signing up or for connecting a shop — the only free thing in Quiksel is seven days of Starter, which starts when you add a card and costs nothing if you cancel inside the week. A card that has had the free week before does not get a second one, on the website or in the app, and the plans are simply shown at their prices instead.

What is the free trial, and what does it need?

Seven days of Starter, our lowest tier, with everything in it. Two things start it and nothing else does: a confirmed email address and a payment card. You do not need a shop connected first — connect eBay, Vinted, Depop or any of the others during the week or after it, whenever suits you.

Nothing is charged on the day you start. Stripe runs a £0 check against the card to make sure it is live and then holds it, which is a check and not a payment. When the seven days are up the first monthly Starter payment is taken, unless you cancel first — and cancelling during the week costs nothing and is two taps under Profile, then Plan. One free week per person: the email address and the card both remember, so a card that has had a week before will not get another, and deleting an account does not reset it.

How do I cancel?

If you subscribed on the website, open your dashboard and tap Manage subscription. That opens Stripe's own page, where you can cancel or change plan. If you subscribed in the iPhone app, Apple handles it: Settings, your name, then Subscriptions. A subscription bought in one place cannot be cancelled from the other, and we would rather tell you which than show you a button that does nothing. Cancelling stops the next payment, and you keep the listings you have already paid for until the end of the period.

Can I change plan?

Yes, up or down, whenever you like. On the website that is Manage subscription and Stripe works out the difference; on the iPhone it is the Subscriptions screen and Apple does. All four plans sit in one subscription group, so moving between them never means cancelling one and starting another.

The listings you have already made this month stay made. If you move up, the extra listings are there the moment the change goes through. If you move down, the new, smaller number counts from the start of the month you are in, so if you have already used more than the smaller plan allows you will have none left until it renews. Nothing you have already listed is touched either way, and credits from an old pack never expire.

I had credits from a pack. What happens to them?

Nothing happens to them. Credit packs are no longer sold, but credits you have already bought are honoured for ever, they still do not expire, and they appear as their own line on your plan card. When you list something, your monthly allowance is used first and your old credits only after it has run out. That order is deliberate: the allowance expires at the end of the period and your credits never do, so spending the perishable one first is the only order that does not quietly destroy something you paid for.

I subscribed and nothing has appeared.

Give it a minute: the payment and your account catch up separately. On the iPhone, open Account and tap Restore purchases, which re-checks with Apple and banks anything that did not land — usually a purchase that completed while the phone was on a bad connection. If it still does not show, email us with the date and the amount and we will sort it out. Your plan lives on your Quiksel account, not on the phone, so signing in on another device does not lose it.

Was I charged for a listing that failed?

You should not have been. A listing comes off your allowance just before the AI writes, and goes straight back if the writing fails. If the writing worked and the posting failed, it stays spent because the listing exists and is yours to post again, which costs nothing further.

Can I get a refund?

Here is the whole refund policy, in plain words. The binding version is sections 7 and 8 of the Terms.

None of this affects your legal rights if the service is faulty or not as described.

Marketplaces

Which ones can Quiksel post to?

Nine shops, and there are only two kinds of them.

StockX is the odd one. It is not a form — you find the exact product in their catalogue, pick a size and place an ask against it — so Quiksel gets you to the right product with the right number in the box and you confirm the match. Only the person holding the shoe can tell a Panda Dunk from a Triple White, and getting that wrong is a sale you unwind by hand. Deadstock only: StockX refuse anything worn.

Why does Vinted need the last tap from me?

Vinted doesn't offer a listing API to ordinary sellers — nor do Facebook Marketplace or Depop. Tools that "auto-post" there anyway run a bot on your logged-in account, which needs your password, breaks the terms you agreed to, and when their bot detection fires it is your account that gets limited, not the tool's. We are not willing to do that to you. Instead the Quiksel extension fills Vinted's form in a tab you are looking at, with no password and nothing running in the background, and the publish click stays yours. (Vinted do now have a "Pro Integrations" API for approved business sellers — we've applied, and if they let tools in, Vinted switches to posts-for-you automatically.)

What does the browser extension do, exactly?

On a laptop (Chrome, Edge or Brave), press List it and anything written for a paste shop appears in the extension with a "Fill it in" button. It opens the marketplace's own form, types in the title, description and price, and shows a small panel with the rest — category, brand, size and condition are styled menus on their side, so the right answer is written next to a Copy button and the last click is yours, unless you switch on Post it for me. Installing takes about a minute: quiksel.co.uk/extension has the download and the steps.

Do I need a laptop for Vinted and the other paste shops?

No. The extension is a laptop thing because no phone browser will run one, but it is not the only way, and on an iPhone it is not even the fastest.

Can I just sign in using the Vinted or Facebook app I already have?

Not directly, and the reason is worth knowing because it is true of every tool, not just this one. An iPhone app's sign-ins belong to that app and nothing else can see them. Signing in inside the Vinted app signs you in to the Vinted app; come back to Quiksel and you are exactly as signed out as before. Apple built it that way on purpose. Any tool promising otherwise is either driving your account with a bot or is about to disappoint you.

What you can do is the next best thing, and it is close. On the sign-in screen, Sign in with Safari opens the shop's page in Safari's own session rather than Quiksel's. Two things follow: if you are already signed in to them in Safari, there is nothing to do at all; and if you are not, iOS offers you the password your Vinted or Facebook app saved — one tap and Face ID, nothing typed. iOS will ask you first whether Quiksel may use that site to sign in, which is it telling you honestly what is being shared.

That is also the sign-in the Safari extension route needs, so if you plan to fill forms through Safari, this is the button to use.

Why does the app say I'm signed in to Vinted but Safari asks me again?

Because they are two different browsers. Quiksel's own window and Safari keep separate cookies, so a sign-in made in one is genuinely not a sign-in in the other. The Connected shops screen says which one you have — "Signed in inside Quiksel" or "Signed in in Safari" — so you can tell at a glance which route is ready. Signing in to both is fine and takes a minute; most people only ever need one.

I signed in to Vinted on my laptop. Do I have to do it again on my phone?

Yes, once. A Vinted, Facebook or Depop sign-in belongs to the browser it was made in — that is Vinted's rule, not ours, and no tool can move one from one device to another. Your eBay and Etsy connections are different: those are held on your Quiksel account and follow you to every device you sign in on.

How do I connect eBay, and what can Quiksel see?

You sign in on eBay's own page and eBay hands us a token. We never see your eBay password. The permissions we ask for are the ones needed to create a listing, read back whether it sold, and change its price. You can disconnect at any time from the Connected shops screen, and from your eBay account settings.

Is Quiksel part of eBay, Vinted or Etsy?

No. Quiksel is an independent UK app and is not affiliated with any of them. It posts to those shops the way they allow apps to, and none of them has endorsed it. eBay, Vinted, Depop, Facebook, Etsy and StockX are trademarks of their owners. The term 'Etsy' is a trademark of Etsy, Inc. This Application uses Etsy's API, but is not endorsed or certified by Etsy.

I connected eBay and it says I need to reconnect.

eBay tokens expire, and they can be revoked from your eBay account. Tap Connect again and sign in; nothing is lost, and any listing already posted stays exactly where it is.

The bench, the review and the questions

What is the bench?

Everything you have written and not yet sent. Photograph an item and it goes there while Quiksel writes it, so you can photograph the next one straight away rather than waiting. It is your account's bench, not one device's: write six items on your phone at a car boot and they are on the bench on your laptop when you get home.

On the iPhone app the bench sits at the top of the New listing screen as a small stack of cards — the one that has been waiting longest in front, the next one showing behind it. Only the front one opens, on purpose: finishing them in the order they were written is what stops the oldest item being the one that never gets done.

What happens in the review?

Everything. It is the one screen where a listing is finished, and every question a listing has is asked there, next to the photographs and the description that answer it. You read the title, the description, the condition, the price and the shops it is going to, change whatever you like, and press send. Nothing goes anywhere until you do.

This is deliberately the only place. Until 6 September the iPhone app also asked for a condition on a small card in the Listings tab, next to a Send button — a second way to finish a listing, on a card showing neither the photographs nor the description. Asking somebody to pick a condition without showing them the item is asking them to guess, so that card is now a link into the review like everything else.

Why is it asking me a question?

Because it would rather ask than get it wrong in public. If Quiksel cannot read a brand off the photographs, or a size is missing on a clothing listing, or the price it worked out looks unlike the ones it found, the item waits on the bench with the question on it instead of going out. They are asked one at a time, in plain English, and each answer either finishes the item or produces the next question.

I answered a question and it asked me the same thing again.

It should not, and if it does, please tell us. Once you have answered about a field, your answer settles it.

What happened to autopilot?

It is gone, and it is not coming back. Autopilot posted finished listings without stopping at the review. The flow is now write, read, send, with no way round the middle step, which is what most people assumed it was doing anyway. Nothing you had switched on is still running: accounts are created with it off and the screen that controlled it has been removed from the app and the website.

Prices, fees and what you keep

Where does the suggested price come from?

What comparable items are actually selling for, adjusted for condition. It is a starting point and not an appraisal. You know your item, and the box is there to be typed in.

What does the "what you keep" figure mean?

The marketplace's fees and the postage band, taken off the asking price, so you can see the number that actually reaches you. It is an estimate: fees vary by category and by promotion, and postage depends on the parcel.

Why does it ask whether I am a business seller?

Because the fees are different, and so is the figure we show you. Until you answer, Quiksel assumes business fees, which is the more cautious of the two. You can change it any time in the setup questions.

Does Quiksel take a cut of my sales?

No. You pay for your plan and nothing else. The money from a sale goes from the buyer to the marketplace to you and never passes through us.

Automatic price cuts

What is repricing?

If you switch it on, a listing that has not sold gets a small price cut on a schedule you set: by default 10% every 90 days, at most three times, never below a floor you choose. It runs once a night.

How do I stop it touching one particular item?

Pin its price on the listing itself. Pinned items are skipped entirely, however the policy is set.

Will it undercut me?

It will never cut by more than the percentage you set, and it will never go below your floor. If a cut would land below the floor, it stops at the floor.

Photos

How many photos, and what makes a good one?

Up to twelve. Daylight, a plain background, and one photo of anything wrong with the item. The description is only as good as what the camera showed, and a photo of the flaw is what stops a not-as-described case later.

It says some of my photos were skipped.

One or more could not be read. That is usually an unusual file format or a photo that did not finish syncing from iCloud. Open the item, add them again, and if a particular photo fails every time we would like to see it: email it to support and we will make it work.

What happens to my photos?

They are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to write the listing (the app asks before the first one goes), stored so your listings survive a restart, sent to the marketplaces you post to, and deleted when you delete the listing or your account. They are not used to train anything.

Can a buyer tell where my photo was taken?

No. Phones hide details inside a photo, including where it was taken. Quiksel removes all of them before a photo is stored or goes anywhere, so a buyer only ever gets the picture.

Your account

Signing in

You can use an email address and password, or Sign in with Apple. They are two separate accounts, even on the same email address, so pick one and stick with it. Your plan and your listings live on the account you bought them with, and an account made with an email address and password works on both the app and this website. If you have ended up with two, email us and we will move everything onto one of them.

I did not get the confirmation email.

Check spam first. If it is not there, use the "Send it again" button on the banner, and if it still does not arrive email support from the address you signed up with so we can look.

Can I get a copy of everything you hold about me?

Yes, whenever you like. On the website, open Account and press Download my data. You get one file with your account, profile, listings, connected shops (without the keys the shops issued us), purchases and recent activity. It opens in any text editor.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Account, then Delete account. It removes your profile, your listings, your photos and your marketplace connections. It does not remove listings already posted to a marketplace, because those belong to your marketplace account and not to us: end those on eBay. Anything left in this month’s allowance, and any credits from an old pack, are lost, and deleting does not entitle you to a refund of them.

If you signed in with Apple, deleting also tells Apple to end Sign in with Apple for Quiksel. If the app says that could not be done from our side, finish it yourself: Settings, your name, Sign in with Apple, choose Quiksel and tap Delete.

Does deleting my account cancel my subscription?

Cancel your plan first, then delete. A subscription bought in the iPhone app belongs to your Apple ID and Apple keeps billing it whatever we do at our end, so cancel it in Settings, your name, Subscriptions before you delete. A subscription bought on the website is different: deleting the account cancels it for you, so nothing more is charged. If you have already deleted the account and think you are still being billed, email us with the date and we will check.

When something goes wrong

The app is signed in but every screen is empty.

Your session has expired. Sign out and back in from the Account tab. If the screens are still empty after that, tell us.

I pressed List it twice. Have I listed it twice?

No. Quiksel refuses to post an item to a marketplace it is already on, and tells you that is what happened rather than pretending to post it again.

A listing says it failed but I can see it on eBay.

Tell us, with the item number. That is the failure we care most about, because everything downstream (price cuts, sold detection) depends on Quiksel knowing where your item is.

Something else

Email support@quiksel.co.uk. Include the email address on your account and roughly when it happened. A screenshot helps more than a description.

If the message on screen ended with a reference, like Reference 7K2M9QXA, put that in too: it lets us find exactly what happened. In the iPhone app, Account, Contact support fills in your app version for you.
